Just a reminder that this is the annual theme competition. Photographs must be taken between July 2021 and May 2022 rather than in any particular month. By knowing all the themes in advance you can seize an opportunity anytime throughout the Club session.
(Also see Competition Rules document – this will be distributed to all members shortly.)
You can submit two images per theme.
1) SEPTEMBER: LANDSCAPE
Any landscape photo taken during the approved months but just to make it a little different only
photos in portrait orientation are acceptable.
2) OCTOBER: INSECTS
Any insect or insects found in or around the house or further afield. This theme is to encourage
some macro- photography but not exclusively.
3) NOVEMBER: FOOD
This is aimed at any food for human consumption but beyond that we leave it to your
imagination.
4) DECEMBER: FAMILY
This is often a time when families get together in some way but don’t let that definition hold you
back.
5) JANUARY: SKY AND CLOUDS
We’re looking for moody photos that are all about the detail.
6) FEBRUARY: DOORS
Your front door, castle door, trap door, attic door, shop door, etc etc. It can be one or more
doors but not a montage/patchwork of doors put together for the theme.
7) MARCH: SCOTTISH BORDERS
We’re looking for a photo that shouts out “Scottish Borders” to the viewer. It can a photo taken
anywhere within the authority, the Scottish Borders.
8) APRIL: TEXTURE
This month we are looking for any photo that conveys “texture”.
9) MAY: STREET PHOTOGRAPHY
Photos must be taken in the street where people (or a person) play an important part in the
composition. The photo must not be staged.
