Kelso Camera Club Equal Opportunities Policy
Obligations
Kelso Camera Club believes that no member or visitor to the club will receive less favourable treatment than another on grounds of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. There is no situation in which Kelso Camera Club will discriminate unfairly. In addition to our moral responsibility we recognise our obligation under equalities legislation and will work to comply with the guidance issued by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
Implementation
We accept that the implementation of the equal opportunity policy is the responsibility of all those within the club, including the office bearers and committees that comprise Kelso Camera Club. It is recognised, however, that those working at Office Bearer and Committee level have a specific duty as set in the required standards and ensure those standards are met.
Complaints
Any member or visitor who feels that they or have experienced discrimination, or have witnessed any other person being discriminated against, should inform the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary as soon as possible. This should be done in writing by email. The complaint will then be brought to the attention of the full Committee and investigated with appropriate action taken where necessary.
