DEFINITIONS:
Composition:- This basically means placing “key” elements within your photograph so that it makes it interesting for anyone to view. These include Rule of Thirds, leading Lines, Symmetrical & Asymmetrical, Framing, Cropping, and Others… More Complex: Golden Spiral: Golden Triangle: Golden Rectangle
Colours Theme:- The subject and style is your own choice.
This theme is quite literally all about Colour! The use of strong colours, harmonious colours or contrasting colours. Colour needs to add something to your photo that adds value over a Black and White
Mobile Phone Theme:- All images entered to the Theme must be captured and edited entirely on a Mobile Phone.
Painting with Light:- Light painting, painting with light, light drawing, or light art performance photography are terms that describe photographic techniques of moving a light source while taking a long-exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or space, or to shine light at the camera to ‘draw’
Motion Theme Definition:- “An image that conveys a sense of movement which can be captured either by freezing the action or by using motion blur.”
Timeless Theme:- “The definition of timeless is something that cannot be measured by time or does not go out of style.”
The definition of Timeless photography gives you the following:
“Timeless photography is difficult to date or assign to a specific period based solely on consideration of its formal photographic elements. It achieves this by spurning contemporary trends that affect formal qualities such colour, tint, tonality, texture, and, to a lesser degree, composition and posing.”
